It was fun to have Joe Paolino join me for a September field trip on RIPTA to see all that’s happening in the Pawtucket Central Falls Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) District, said John Flaherty, senior advisor to Grow Smart RI.   In Pawtucket we were joined by Jan Brodie, a development consultant with the city and Bill Kirby, managing partner and owner of New England Paper Tube, who hosted us for lunch in the district.  Jan briefed us on the commercial and residential construction that’s underway around the busy train station, which includes nearly 1,000 new units of housing either completed or in the pipeline.  Said Joe after the trip, “I think I enjoyed it more than you. Thanks for reaching out to me. I learned a lot today.

It was this April 14, 2024 interview with Joe on ‘In the Arena’ that inspired the first ‘Rhodies In Transit’ coffee outing.
